Karen Pipkin founded Advita Health with a vision to bridge the gap in specialty care for patients transitioning from hospital settings to rehabilitation. With over 30 years of clinical experience, Karen brings an unparalleled depth of knowledge in orthopedic care and internal medicine.

Karen is dual board-certified as both an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate degree from the University of Maryland. With a strong foundation in inpatient care, emergency medicine, and over 18 years of dedicated orthopedic experience, Karen has led the Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team at Luminis Health System for the last 7 years.

She has been published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals and is passionate about advancing community health and improving the care of quality once patients are discharged from the hospital. Karen’s leadership ensures that Advita Health stays focused on delivering the highest level of care while addressing the unique challenges faced by high-risk patients in transitional settings.

Christina Case is a nurse practitioner with over 37 years of experience in critical care nursing and advanced practice. She specializes in cardiology and has dedicated much of her career to improving outcomes for patients with heart failure, arrhythmias, and hypertension.

Christina earned her Adult Nurse Practitioner degree from Quinnipiac University in 2008 and her Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2019. Her career spans over two decades in critical care, with a focus on managing complex, high-acuity patients. Christina’s expertise extends to cardiology, where she led the cardiology APP team at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center for years.

She also contributed significantly to the development of the Heart Failure Program at Luminis Health AAMC, under the mentorship of Dr. Jerome Segal. Christina is deeply committed to improving care delivery and outcomes for older adults and vulnerable populations. Her work at Advita Health focuses on collaborative care, ensuring smooth transitions for patients with cardiac conditions and enhancing heart health throughout their recovery process.
